iMessage will not send messages, iMessage will not send messages

Please try each step until you resolve your issue:

Tap Settings > General > Date and Time > Set Automatically > Off. Set the date one year ahead. Then try to access the App Store.

Close the App Store completely by pressing the home button twice, pressing and hold the App Store icon until it starts to wiggle, then tapping the minus sign to close it. Re-launch the App Store.

Restart your device by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button until “Slide to Power off” appears.

Launch the App Store; if it is still blank with nothing shown, wait a few minutes. Sometimes apps may load slowly because of networking issues.

If still nothing appears, try changing the device’s language by tapping Settings > General > International > Language. Pick a language. Pick any other second language you already know or be familiar with. If you don’t, do not forget to navigate back in a different language. Change the language, launch the App Store, then change the language back to what it was originally.

Sign out of your Apple ID by tapping Settings > iTunes & App Store, tap your Apple ID and select “Sign Out”. Wait one minute and sign back in by reentering your Apple ID and password.

If no success you can restore "as new" not restoring the backup. Follow the article. Save all info before doing this.

iMessage "check email for verification" error

I've seen DOZENS of these support questions. Some answers work for some people, some don't.

Originally when I turned on my iPod I thought I set it up so that I would have an Apple ID for iTunes and an Apple ID for Facetime/iMessage. I thought I screwed it up by doing this and did something wrong. Come to find, seems like just about everyone is having this issue.

In my research I have found and tried the following ways to fix this...and they have not worked.

Tried turning date/time to auto (already was set up this way)

Tried changing the DSN data to the 8.8.8.8 as suggested, nothing.

Tried resetting to factory settings (about 10 different times)

Checked Apple ID info, had a couple email addresses attached to that ID that weren't verified but the main email was. That is now fixed.

It seems no matter what I do, I keep getting "unable to verify address. An email with a verification link has been sent to the above email address" If I go to Apple, my ID is already verified with that email address.

I have a scheduled call with Apple today an a couple hours. I might not be able to make it so I went back to reschedule it, and now they are telling me I need to pay $60 to talk to someone, and that I don't have any tech support for my device because it is expired. Um, what? I just bought this a week ago!

If anyone can help, I would be very greatful. This is so frustrating. I'm pretty good at computers and all that stuff, and I just cannot figure this one out for the life of me.

Why do IMessage not delivered?

Bernie ~ One possibility is that the iMessage system has a temporary "issue". See its status here:

And you may find more explanations in the More Like This section to the right of this thread.

is not registered with iMessage.

Since she does not have iOS 6, you can only Message here by using the email address(s) specified on here iPod in Setting>Messages>Send and receive

When you sign in to your Apple ID with iMessage using an iPhone with iOS 6, your Apple ID is linked to your phone number. This allows you to receive iMessages sent to your phone number on other iOS 6 devices signed in to the same Apple ID. If your phone number is not listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow this article.

Imessage storage

I have an 8GB 4th Gen iPod Touch. I use iMessage to chat with friends and others. Lately, it has been popping up with a message saying my storage is low and I need to manage it via settings whenever I use it and now I can't even use iMessage now. I deleted a TON of photos as well as some apps and the About section of Settings shows I have 2.8 GB available now. Yet, I still can't send a message because it says I need to clear more space. Is this a bug or am I missing a step? Please help! This is the only way I can recieve text messages! Any guidance appreciated!

iMessage for iPod won't show pictures received from other iDevices

Hey,

For a while now, my iPod Touch 4G 8GB has not been showing pictures received from other iPhones/iPods. I can see a small image of it when I get a notification when I'm not on the iMessage app, but when I open up iMessage to see it, only the photo summary (The writing that was sent with the image). Sometimes that message comes with a red "!" mark. When I click that little mark, it shows a button that says "Try Again", as if I wrote the text and it didn't go through. If I click it, it sends that text again, but from me. And the thing is, it shows the photos I send to people! It's messed up! What can I go to let iMessage show photos sent to me again?

iMessage quit working on Touch

My stepson's iMessage just quit working on his Touch.  We get thrown to the activation screen and when we go to login using his login credentials, it goes to the next screen, then almost immediately flashes back to the activation screen.  We've tried creating a new account and it does the same thing.  We also notice that if we go into Contacts and try to click on Facetime nothing happens.  We've tried rebooting (power button & Home button) and that doesn't work.  I'm stumped.  Anyone have any ideas?  He's running 5.1.1 on it.  It was working about a week ago.
