"other" space goes up to 4GB after syncing apps

I know this questions comes up alot and i am aware of the usual clearing of browser history, cache, etc...  but this problem is different.  i just got an itouch 5 and everytime i restore from back up, after i sync my apps, the space jumps up to 4.5GB.  After the initial restore, "other" space only takes up about 1.2GB.  After i sync apps, it shoots up to over 4GB.  i tried both icloud and itunes restore, and both do the same thing.  Also, the icloud and itunes backups were made at different time periods.  No matter which back up i use, itunes or icloud, the results are the same.  other space starts off small, then the apps start syncing and it shoots up.  i dont know which app is the culperate, and none of the apps or app data in the "Useage" setting indicate any of them are taking up 4GB of space.  My iphone, which is my primary device doesnt even take up that much "other" space.  I am at a loss because that is alot of space to loose, i would prefer to have it if i could.

I charged my new Ipod 5th gen for at least 6 hours, and there is still a little gap of space to the right of the green battery symbol?

Hello. I have the iPod Touch 5th generation (32 GB) and all the memory is taken up because on iTunes, it says that I have 78 apps (which would take up 8.04 GB). I only have 21 apps on my iPod. Help! I need free space!

Why do i have only 1.8 gigabytes of space left?

 

Since i had my 8 gigabyte Ipod Touch 4G, the only problem i ever had was with the internet because we we're with telstra but since the new update for Real Racing 3 it said i didnt have enough space. I deleted 2 of the 3 games that i could fit on there (NFS Hot Pursuit and Nitro Nation Drag Racing). Now i had deleted all my music and photo and have absolutely nothing except Real Racing 3. There is nothing left to delete and it says i only have 1.8 gigabytes of space left. Another 1.8 gigabytes is the size of the still not updated Real Racing 3. If anyone had the same problem and fixed it then can you tell me how to fix it or if i have to get it serviced or something then can someone tell me how to do that or anyone who does free servicing for ipods (got no money because i spent $30 on a brand new trady case for my ipod which in the end broke and anyother $10 on a stylis that has disappeared). Its currently 5.0.1 but im gonna update it back to 6.1.3
