I posted this before and one of the hosts deleted it. You said that you or nobody you know has ever had this problem? You are obviously a liar or you don't know anybody and live in an Apple bubble. You probably work for them. Apple has always had issues with their updates, look online and you will find millions I'm sure. I have updated in ipod once without it deleting my music. I don't buy music from itunes. I refuse to. I love my ipod but that is as far as my relationship with Apple will ever go. Don't disable my post again, I want to see how many people will agree with me about the updating issue.
I'm trying to update my son's ipod to something newer software version than 4.2.1. I've tried to follow directions I saw on youtube. When I went to itunes it had me update my itunes to the latest itunes version but it still didn't let me update the ipod. I'm supposed to see on his ipod a setting that says "sofware updates" and it's totally missing from his ipod. It lists "about, network, bluetooth, location services". No "software updates". I even tried changing default settings. HELP
Hey everyone I bought an iPod touch 5g and it was working fine until on the home screen the App Store icon shows 2 apps to update but I open App Store and the updates doesn't load normal it suppose to show me the apps to update and all that what happened
So my home screen shows that I have 13 app updates (accumulated over time) but every time I click on my AppStore app and choose updates, the screen is just blank. I've tried to restart the AppStore and restart my iPod but nothing has worked...obviously.
Anyone else having this problem?
I can no longer download updates from the iTunes update page. It shows a number of updates in the label but no icons to download. I have tried a hard reset and signing out and back in to my iTunes account to no avail. Any other tips?
Cheers

Inexplicably began working after days of frustration! Go figure!
If I lose my wifi signal in the middle of downloading updates, I seem to never be able to resume them nor cancel them. If I try to resume them I get "unable to download application" ad nauseam, no matter how many times I hit "retry".
I can't cancel the updates either, and this leaves the apps unusable as they remain paused on update mode.
I've tried logging out of the App Store and back in, nothing. I've made sure all my account info is properly updated, nothing.
I'm not interested in any fixes involving iTunes on my computer because I know how to do that. I want to know how this is fixed ON THE IPOD TOUCH ITSELF, and if it can't be, why Apple isn't doing anything about it. I shouldn't need to have to plug the iPod into my computer to un-bungle it because I don't always have access to my laptop.
