If you had a third party tracking application installed, you could use that. If not you could wait until your iPod was turned on and use the play sound, play message, and locate features to locate it. Chances are, if someone steals your iPod, they will turn it on eventually. Be sure to go to www.iCloud.com, log in, click on Find my iPhone, select your device, and have iCloud notify you by email when your device is found (turned on).
is there any way to find my lost/stolen ipod if find my ipod is not turned on?
I'm pretty sure I still have the box somewhere but I'm away from home for the time being and lost my iPod Touch over the weekend. After my digging I just can't seem to figure out if I can trace purchase history or associated devices in itunes back to the serial number of the device. I know this is a longshot and I might just have to wait until I can visit home and tear up my room looking for that stupid box... but if anyone could help, it would really supplement the police report nicely. Hi, i either got my ipod 4g lost or stolen almost a year ago, i have a new one now, but the old one resignates with me cause its 64g and about 7,000 + pics full of my memorys. anyways i managed after digging to find the serial number to the ipod by seeing that i never used the back up for it! soooo i wanted to know how i could use the serial number to track that ipod. btw i didnt have icloud on the ipod, but somebody can have updated it and all. So i know if not, i have not chance & also, to see if ssome one was "smart" to register it, i just added it on my reister about a few minutes ago, no discrepancies came up .. whats a girl to do? i miss it!
