I recently got my iPod stolen at school.. Would I be able to use the serial number to locate it even though the iPod has a different IOS than my phone?

udid number?
My ipod was stolen. I tracked it using icloud and gave the address to the police. The detective, however, says he needs the udid number to prove it is mine when he gets there. How do I get the udid off my computer? No, I obviously cant plug in my ipod and my daughter threw away the original box so I cant get it off of there. I need to find it somewhere in my computer because I even called Apple and they dont have it on file.

Any way to find iPod Touch serial number after it has been lost/stolen?
I'm pretty sure I still have the box somewhere but I'm away from home for the time being and lost my iPod Touch over the weekend. After my digging I just can't seem to figure out if I can trace purchase history or associated devices in itunes back to the serial number of the device. I know this is a longshot and I might just have to wait until I can visit home and tear up my room looking for that stupid box... but if anyone could help, it would really supplement the police report nicely. Thanks!

Phone number for imessages on ipod touch 3g?
I recently received on ipod touch 3g which I'd like to associate with my another iOS devices and my apple id. I've got iOS 6 on my iphone 4s and mountain lion on my computer. If i set up iMessages with the iPod touch as well, will it sync messages across devices. If so, will it be associated both with my email address and phone number registered in my AppleID and receive all imessages sent to both my phone number and email address? Or do all devices have to be on iOS 6 for the imessages sent to my phone number to be received on that device?

How do I track my ipod with the serial number? Is that possible?
Okay, well i lost my ipod touch in my house, and I really need to find it. It might not even be in my house, but I just have to find it. I know I must not sound very responsible but... please I need to find it NOW!

Cant find my ipod touch serial number 3rd generation.
I bought it used and it was scuffed up pretty bad on the back and i cant find it on itunes or the ipod either because it is broken and wont go past apple logo and isnt recognized by itunes? Apple wanted it when i was calling about a repair.
