how to stop restoring ipod

My ipod was due for an update so i plugged it into Itunes. it did an update, then came up with the 'plug into itunes' symbol. This came up with the only option to restore this ipod touch. Doing that would wipe this ipods memory and photos, etc. Does anyone know what to do to get out of this?

I'm restoring my iPod Touch and I think it's stuck.

I went to restore my 3rd gen iPod touch and it has been resetting for over 2 hours now. It's been stuck on the black screen with the loading icon the entire time. Is this normal? Can I do anything to get it unstuck?

itunes is taking forever restoring my ipod (or how ios update wrecked my ipod)

I tunes told me a new update for my ipod touch was available (currently 6.0.1) so I hit go and download the stuff. Apple kindly asks me if I want to back up my ipod. Ah, I don't feel like like it so.... no!

Then I hit update, and the progress bar starts moving very slowly. So slowly that 12 hours later, its still updating. I let it go for a few more hours before I unplug the ipod and and reconnect to itunes. Now itunes wants to restore my ipod, all data will be lost. Oh well, I guess that's when my back up will be useful...

restoring...............restoring................restoring..............restorin g............ 16 hours later...... still restoring!

I need help with my Ipod touch 4th restoring to factory settings

I have posted several posting because I need help but somehow everybody seems to ignore the subject or they just don't want to go there. I wonder why.

Anyways, I'm in critical bind. I still have iTune 10.7 running on my iMac 10.6. However, when I try to synch my Ipod to my Mac I get a message that I need to restore my Ipod to factory settings.

The thing that I'd like to know if I restore to factory settings if I could select which verions iTune I could select. I have 10.7 installed and also have a copy in TM.

I don't want to use iTune V.11

ITunes froze while I was restoring my iPod Touch. Now it has no software!

My iPod (2G) was working fine, but I decided to “factory reset” it. As you might know, iTunes completely removes the device’s files AND software, before downloading and installing it anew. Just after my iPod’s software was successfully removed, iTunes froze! Now there's a stagnant progress bar (which seems to mark something like 0%) below the Apple logo in the screen of my iPod, which is constantly lit. My computer doesn't recognise it anymore, nor does iTunes, of course. I tried connecting it to different USB ports, but nothing seems to work. Pressing home and menu simultaneously also doesn’t make any effect. I will wait until the battery is completely drained, and I’ll try to plug it again to a power source, but I’m afraid it won’t fix the problem, for my iPod has no software, seemingly.

My iTouch 5th generation is not restoring and is stuck showing the USB cable and iTunes icon

My iTouch 5th generation continues to show the USB cable pointing to the iTunes icon on my screen. I can’t seem to get rid of it. Also, my iTouch is not restoring correctly. I have pressed the “restore iPod” button and so far it does nothing, but restarts the process over again once it finishes. During the process of restoring my iTouch I keep getting “iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes.” What does this mean and is this popup interrupting the process of restoring my iTouch? When this does popup my iTouch turns black and then goes back to the USB cable pointing to the iTunes icon screen. I have also tried to restart my iTouch by pressing the on/off button and the home button until the apple icon appears. I don’t know if this is relevant, but the screen with the red slider to turn the iTouch off does not appear. I have restarted my computer and I have also shut it off for about 10 minutes to see if I could get some results. It does not work. I’ve considered uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it again, but my MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.2 says that this cannot be done, because it is part of the system. I know that other people have been having trouble with their ipods  not showing up on iTunes, but I do not have this problem. One more thing, I have recently updated iTunes to iTunes 11. Any suggestions?

I've had iPod touch about six months, and I've tried restoring it but its still very unresponsive and slow loading videos

My iPod touch is about six months old and I use it pretty regularly. It's always had problems with the home button being unresponsive, but lately it's been loading video and Internet very slowly and sometimes the touch screen is also unresponsive. I've tried restoring it on iTunes but my iPod is still acting the same. What can I do to make it run better and how can I fix the home button (I've also tried force closing an app that came with the iPod because I hear that can help with the home button but that also did not work!)

Thanks!
