I recently got my iPod stolen at school.. Would I be able to use the serial number to locate it even though the iPod has a different IOS than my phone?

Why would an iPod go into "Recovery mode"?

if you do a hard reset while connected to itunes, that might activate recovery mode.

Sometimes it happens during an update or trying to restore the device.

If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions

If you're not able to restore the device, you should use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Using that last article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!

Good luck

Why would an iPod go into "Recovery mode"?

My sisters iPod says it's in recovery mode. She "doesn't know" how it happened. Any ideas?

My grandson left his Ipod here because it is locked up for 22,714,766 minutes. Why would a company make a device that would do such a thing and how is it undone?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

My grandsonl left his IPod here because it locked up for 22,714,750 minutes. Why would a company make a device that does such a thing? I understand these are not cheap. How is this fixed? To me  this is an ignorant thing for a company to do if it wants to make money. I will never buy such a thing that would lock up for 43 years.

Is it true that an iPod touch 4th Generation after updating to iOS 6 (6.1.3 being the latest) would cause a laggy and poor experience overall?

Hi, i have an iPod touch 4th Generation 8Gb and it is currently in iOS 4.1

I am thinking to update it to iOS 6.1.3 to get the new features of the iOS. But as I surf the net i read several comments that updating it to iOS 6 would cause a laggy and poor experience overall. I think they also say that apps frequently crashing. Is these comments true?

Should I update or keep it on iOS 4.1?

Thanks!

Is there any way to get the "new and improved" itunes 11 to sort by category on the Books screen, the way the old (and far superior) version 10 would?

The title pretty much says it all.

"Is there any way to get the "new and improved" itunes 11 to sort by category on the Books screen, the way the old (and far superior) version 10 would?"

and if no, is there a way to switch back to the previous version, because I'm at the point where I'm going to toss all of my Apple products out the window, and switch to something else.
