Okay so my daughters's ipod touch (model no: A1367) has had this problem since we got it two-ish years ago. we probably should have got it looked at before but we never thought to. anyway now we're trying to fix it but we can't. BASICALLY, the ipod connects to our wifi, or appears to, however when we try and use apps that require wifi such as facebook, twitter, youtube, snapchat and even the basic ones such as app store and safari, it comes up with an alert box saying 'unable to connect' so although the wifi appears to connect, it must not actually work
what's the problem and how do we go about fixing it?
Thanks
Colin
P.S my other daughter's works fine, and hers was bought the exact same time at the exact same place and my son's ipod touch, which is a lot older (the one without the camera) also has this problem.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Try and force iPod into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
Hi All,
Hoping someone could help me out... I cannot back up my wife's iPod Touch to the latest software... I've removed all backups within iTunes as well as deleted Sync History...
No problems with my iPad or iPhone.. any suggestions?
Windows 7 OS;
I have downloaded a CD to my library... I am unable to put a song from the library onto my iPOD... I have tried to drag it and it is not allowing me to do that.
Hi,
My fairly new iPod touch 5g has synced perfectly fine with iTunes 11 before, I have set it to sync one certain playlist and until today it worked fine. Now when I try to sync, it does the usual routine but does not add any newly added music to my ipod library. When I view the music on the iPod via iTunes, it shows the new songs greyed out with a little dotted circle next to them, I assume this means it isn't synced. Pressing sync doesn't change anything.
I've tried various fixes like holding down the home and on/off button down, plugging it in, and waiting ten minutes, which did nothing.
The sync just seems to think there's no new songs to add when there is...
What should I do?
The user name or password for "....@ymail.com" was incorrect. Try again.
i have tried everything
Changed my apple ID mail to 2 different e-mail addresses
reseted my iPod 3 times
tried from different wireless networks
and still i can't activate my imsg or facetime!!!!
My son has turned on Voice Over on his iPod Touch and now I am unable to turn it off. Apparently you cannot scroll when you are in this feature? I have tried the triple-click but it just makes his screensaver picture negative. I have gone into Settings, then General but again I am not able to scroll down to Accessibility. I have looked and searched and tried everything I can think of. Please help!
