In iOS 5.0.1 Music app, smart playlists set to dynamically update that use both playlist and plays as criteria are not dynamically updating. This is occurring on an iPod touch 5th gen. set to manually manage music.
Huge, annoying bug. Previous iOS 4 workaround involving using category and plays as criteria does not work in iOS 5 as it seems category is completely ignored.
This smart playlist bugginess is not present when viewing/using smart playlists in iTunes on Mac OS X with the device connected. The resulting tracks in a smart playlist as viewed on the device wildly vary from the tracks listed in iTunes.
Has anyone discovered any workarounds for creating dynamically updated playlists that use grouping criteria (e.g. track in other playlist, track includes certain grouping metadata like category) that work on device?
